yesterday was such a busy off day. I studied for hours, and had two lengthy phone calls. after all that, I wasn’t resting until 5pm. I knew coming into this that I was going to have to work my ass off, but damn! I am feeling pretty good mentally though, despite everything I’m doing.

today went well and wasn’t too difficult. things were easy with my coworker, thankfully, cause that was about to be an annoying issue if he was gonna make it weird. it was an early morning getting in to the coffee shop. I made myself a blackberry, caramel, coconut oat milk latte. solid flavor combo honestly. I’m very grateful to be able to try so many different flavor combos at work cause it would be expensive otherwise. I’m getting more comfortable at work and falling into a groove. still learning quite a bit but little progress is better than none. I honestly don’t think I’d be struggling this much if I was by myself or with different people. it’s like learning coffee all over agin which is stupid cause I’m not this incapable of doing my job usually and I’ve been new at a lot of coffee shops. new town, new people, new way of doing things, ya know.

school went SO quickly. we did kind of start a small lecture on the chapter we’re going into but we only had 45 min before we had a hot tools “class”. a rep from Pretty In A Minute came from Manhattan to talk about their new tools and showed us how they work. I wanted to curl one of my classmate’s hair so I started and wasn’t getting it so a cosmo instructor came to help and I started roping my other classmates in to each curl a piece of hair and ended up successfully getting everyone in on it. fun bonding moment and the hair turned out really nicely!

after that, we went back to class. I worked on my finger curls on my mannequin and then worked on the FINAL page of the chapter we’re currently on. I have no idea how I’m going to fit all of that in my brain in two days.. that was a LOT of information. I’m honestly quite overwhelmed with trying to get everything to stick in my brain but I am enjoying my time overall.

I got my final plant in the mail! she was very healthy so we’re gonna try to keep it that way. I was so worried all day that this poor plant would sit outside in the 94 degree heat for hours while I was at school and work. however, everything really worked out perfectly in my favor. the expected delivery time was originally supposed to be between 8:30 and 12:30, but it got delayed and got pushed back to be delivered by 4pm instead. I picked it up at the mailbox when I got home which concerned me cause I didn’t know how long it had been sitting in there. thankfully, my landlord told me that they had just delivered the mail in the last 15 minutes. PERFECT timing. she got here safely, even being late. got to plant her finally in my disco ball planter (big yay!)

tomorrow is another long day. coffee in the morning, then finger waves at school. ready for day 2, gonna see what this big world has to offer me. let’s gooooo.
