My life does seem to do quick turn arounds. I don’t always know how I switch up so quickly, but I suppose it’s a lot of hard work, or something like that. I have a whole home now. It’s an RV, more space than I am sure what to do with. That’s the beautiful part.
Day 2 of school. We spent almost 2 hours unwrapping all of our new hair tools. It was like Christmas. We learned some history of barbering. Let me drop you a quick history fact. Those red, white, and blue striped poles you see outside barber shops? Those colors all have meaning. The red and white were originally used bandages from bloodletting (barbers were barber-surgeons back then) in order to advertise their services. The blue came in later when the barbering and surgical careers were split into two.
I met the owners of my new job today. Very cool people. I know I’ll fit in just fine. I begin work tomorrow at 6:30am in the coffee shop. I realized today I haven’t been in coffee for a year now. I am stoked to return, just need a reboot. Small world it is knowing people on the other side of the world who know the person standing right in front of you in a small town. Life’s funny that way.
My tongue is UNHAPPY (it’s newly pierced). The healing process for this one sucks a big one. Kind of annoying in my mouth thus far, but once it stops hurting and the swelling goes down, things will flow much smoother.
I’m feeding myself much more regularly (besides my tongue crying for help); a huge accomplishment. All the things I’m currently doing for my life are huge accomplishments. I do live inside now. While the heat is sweltering, I do miss waking up to insane views, fresh air, and morning sounds. While I am thankful, I now wake up to the sound of the air conditioner and views of a white ceiling and TV. The views outside my front door are nothing to excuse away though. My baby (my car) is very happy to be back in the desert, as am I.
