a blog to connect me to you

it’s fri-YAY

I fully expected today to be a boring day; it did not disappoint. unfortunately, some days we have to go through bored, or sad, or angry. time keeps going. eventually there will be tomorrow again.

started off with a quiet morning at the coffee shop. my school instructor did stop in though to get some coffee and see me. I genuinely feel special that he took the time to do that. the rest of the day was slow but a coworker let me in on some of his feelings and things going on in his life during shift. another special moment. I feel so deeply excited when people open their darkness up to me. I did finally get to make a few drinks today, yay. I also made mistakes, which is only worth noting because of the “new employee good to bad ratio”. I would like to showcase my work, but I’m too busy making sure I ask “for here or to go?”

I’ve got at least nine whole months here. it’s a strange feeling when you realize the length of time you’ll be in one place after traveling almost non-stop for almost 4 years. I’ve seen some amazing shit in my time, I’ve met the most incredible people, and the experiences I have are unique. not roaming feels a bit sticky. I definitely am already house soft. sooner or later, I’m sure I’ll get itchy feet.

school was terribly boring today. we spent four hours on computers reading and quizzing, etc. it’s a rough start. I’m not this kind of learner. adjustment to being back in school is consistent. I underestimated my involvement with assignments. it’s a little less than breezing through; silly me. I am very grateful to be going to hair school. I’m stoked to learn a lot and have a license in something professional.

I know I have so much support behind me. I’m grateful for that, though I do wish I had more energy to reach out to everyone individually. I do think of you often. YES YOU.

I ran again today, yay. my brain does this weird thing where it doesn’t actually get any satisfaction out of completing tasks on my list (unless I enjoy the task) and instead, it just runs on a loop how annoying my choice is to run daily and how I could really just stop at any time. I’m not like “oh my gosh yay I did it!” not me, not my brain; it couldn’t care less.

the most exciting part of my day was getting a stick on toilet paper holder for my bathroom. what was the most exciting part of yours?

thanks again for coming to my typed TED talks and I hope you’re enjoying my little life in this big world.
