today was an easy day. I only had a four hour block of school that actually went by quite quickly. thankfully, I did get some time to sleep in this morning before then. tomorrow begins five full days of work and school.
my morning was slow, which I enjoy. completed the usual routine morning tasks, breakfast, hygiene, stretching, etc. I did throw together a nice oat matcha to take along. I did leave a little early for school but I didn’t realize how early until I got to school. starting school at 12:15 throws me off. I based this morning off school starting at noon. oops. it’s okay, I took some time to sit in the classroom and do my bell work.
during school, we are left to do theory work on our own. this includes reading the book, doing activities, watching videos, and quizzes online. some days are hard when it’s four straight hours of sitting at your desk but today, we got up to do a little role play for a chapter submission we had to complete.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned my desk buddy, B (yes another B to keep in mind). B is fuckin sick. definitely the coolest looking one in the classroom. though I am opening up more, he really is the only one I talk to so far. he safely bridges the gap between me and all my male classmates (we do have one woman). anyway, B is super rad, already adore him.
we spent the class doing our role playing work which has to be recorded and turned in online. despite our unwillingness to DO the task, we really did have a lot of fun. we laughed most of the time and got some experience in client consultations, different personality possibilities, and the “before the cut” process. it was not something I could get myself up for doing, but I did it and we made some funny stuff. we have this joke now in our class about the alpaca haircut. our professor pointed it out last week and wasn’t a fan of doing that type of cut that everybody has been wanting. in my video submission today, I did make an alpaca haircut joke, which did crack up my professor.
when we went back to the classroom, our professor, teacher, whatever, was going through all our videos to grade them and he really got a kick out of mine and B’s submissions. that made me feel more confident in my role play and more comfortable being embarrassing with a classmate. school was pretty quick and easy today overall.
hot as hell outside, though I really do enjoy the heat on my skin. I have missed the desert and it’s cozy summers (don’t look at me like that, I know it’s weird). being back in the desert really does make my soul happy. my overall being is brighter just being back here and getting to see red cliffs and calico hills. I had not been to the desert for some time before this and it has been calling to me since I left so I’m at peace having returned.
otherwise, I didn’t do much when I got home. I spent some time cross stitching and watching Netflix (I just finished Hoarders). started a new show called The Following which had a strong start. I think I’ll be invested shortly. not too much to report in my big world.
