my first real haircut

today was a good day overall. work started off better than I thought. I fully expected it to be a tough day due to past behaviors. it did go smoothly for the most part. only got insulted a few times, it’s good ya know. I was able to make more drinks, which is great but also not fun when the feedback you get is pointed. regardless, it went smooth overall.

in school, we finished our textured layer cut. I’m so damn proud of this cut. it took me a while to get the technique down but it really turned out great for my first real hair cut.

first. all the things we learned today brought me a great challenge, but one that I enjoyed, not one that felt like a roadblock in my brain. cutting hair today was quite fun and really cool to be learning. it’s been cool to see the comradery between everyone talking about their hair cuts together and how everybody’s is feeling or looking. I got to chat with more classmates, yay, I’m branching out, being *social*.

we started on our next haircut which was a shorter haircut. man, I tell ya, the parting of hair is such a challenge when you’re first starting out. it was a horseshoe shape around the head with a v on the back. then cut the hair to two inches all the way around. that was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. much harder to get the right hold on everything. I definitely have to gain more hand strength. it’ll be a project for tomorrow. we also got our fancy rolling bags today. seriously good airport luggage.

I have another work/school day tomorrow, then just school thursday, and after that, I head out to go camp in the mountains before heading to omaha. I’m ready to get back to traveling this big world.
