I got to sleep in today, which is exactly what I needed. late start day, only went to school. had a slow morning, hung out with my plants for a bit, made myself a matcha, and went to school. school was really quite easy today. it was the first day the barber shop was open for customers, which was scary for most everyone but me. I was on reception today, thankfully. while I was on reception, I got to work on some things on our task sheet.

I did an updo today on my mannequin which was a tough task to get through. the hair is definitely not long enough for the styles I chose but I could get some of the form out and it ended up being pretty nice overall. I didn’t get any pictures, it definitely would not have been something I could have caught well on camera. it was a fun challenge and I enjoyed trying to get through it. I have lots of growth to do, but it was something I’d like to work on with the time I have. getting through some of the things on our list though takes quite a lot of patience.

after the updo, I did a set of pin curls which took the rest of the class. I’m not even sure they looked better than the first time but they got done. I did enjoy the repetition and getting done right as class was ending. they turned out well and I’m learning different ways to make them better and have less fly-aways. getting to be on the computer, I had access to the music playing. we’re not allowed to change it however, I put some tarzan on which was great. I don’t even know if anyone else noticed but I was having a blast.

unfortunately, nobody came in to the shop or called to book an appointment, so there were no live cuts today. everybody just worked on their mannequins or theory. it was a quiet day overall. I got to share a song with a classmate to play on his way back home so I’m excited to see how he felt about it tomorrow. it’s a really fun upbeat song called Na Ja by Pav Dharia if anybody wanted to listen to it. I got all my homework done last night so I gave myself the night off. thankfully I also don’t work tomorrow morning so I get to sleep in an extra day and only have school tomorrow. another theory day, so it’ll be easy. the slow days help balance the rest of the busy week in my big world.
